TI Migrant / Truckers Project

Brief Introduction: A targeted health intervention that registered 17,274 migrant workers this year to prevent HIV/AIDS and STIs through worksite health camps.

Project Details:

    • Need: Migrant workers at construction sites (like MIHAN and Butibori) face high vulnerability to HIV due to mobility, social isolation, and limited access to formal health facilities.
    • Location: Construction sites and industrial zones in MIHAN and Butibori, Nagpur.
    • Partner: National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) and Maharashtra State AIDS Control Society (MSACS).
    • Outcome/Impact:
      • Conducted 240 health camps reaching 8,347 beneficiaries.
      • Performed 7,691 HIV tests and treated 410 STI/RTI cases.
      • Distributed 42,204 condoms to promote safe sexual practices.
      • Registered 17,274 new workers in the 2024-2025 period alone.
      • Received a state-level award for best work in HIV/AIDS prevention.

Link Worker Scheme (LWS)

Brief Introduction: A community-centric outreach program that identified and linked 25 HIV-positive individuals to life-saving treatment this year.

Project Details:

    • Need: High-risk groups (FSWs, MSM, transgender persons) face persistent stigma and barriers that prevent them from accessing testing and ART centers.
    • Location: Urban and peri-urban pockets served by Sahyadri Foundation.
    • Partner: National AIDS Control Programme (NACP).
    • Outcome/Impact:
      • Identified 25 new HIV-positive cases and successfully linked all of them to ART centers for treatment.
      • Reached high-risk categories including migrants, truckers, and IDUs through systematic hotspot mapping.
      • Improved treatment adherence and retention in care through telephonic tracking and home visits.
      • Reduced community stigma through one-to-one counseling and trust-building.

Adolescent Mental Health Screening & Awareness Program

Brief Introduction: A massive school-based initiative that provided mental health screening and awareness to 60,506+ students across 200+ schools.

Project Details:

    • Need: India faces a growing adolescent mental health crisis, requiring early identification and defined referral pathways for youth.
    • Location: 200+ government and aided schools across Nagpur district.
    • Partner: Health Mission (NHM), Zilha Parishad Nagpur, and Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC).
    • Outcome/Impact:
      • Reached 60,506+ students from Classes 7-12.
      • Trained 500+ teachers and school coordinators in early identification of mental health warning signs.
      • Established referral linkages with Tele MANAS and District Mental Health Units for continuity of care.
      • Increased mental health literacy among families and school communities.

Community-Based Mental Health Training for ASHA Workers

Brief Introduction: Empowered 3,000+ ASHA workers with specialized skills to identify and support mental wellness at the grassroots level.

Project Details:

    • Need: Frontline health workers require capacity building to handle adolescent mental health screening and early intervention in rural areas.
    • Location: Suresh Bhat Sabhagruh, Nagpur (covering multiple blocks and urban-rural areas).
    • Partner: Reach52.

      • Directly trained over 3,000 ASHA workers.
      • Enhanced workers’ confidence in identifying symptoms of depression, anxiety, and substance abuse.
      • Equipped participants with basic counseling and referral skills.
      • Expanded geographic coverage of mental health awareness to underserved communities.

Firte Pathak (Street Children Support)

Brief Introduction: A holistic mobile intervention providing education, nutrition, and essential health services to destitute street children via child-friendly buses.

Project Details:

    • Need: Street children face severe vulnerabilities, including lack of nutrition, irregular education, and high exposure to health risks.
    • Location: Six districts in Maharashtra, including Nagpur and Amravati.
    • Partner: Women and Child Development Department, Government of Maharashtra.
    • Outcome/Impact:
      • Operates specialized buses (“FIRTEPATHAK”) to act as mobile schools and health centers.
      • Provides immediate nutrition and vaccinations to homeless children.
      • Focuses on rehabilitating and mainstreaming children into the formal government school system.
      • Conducts individual rehabilitation plans based on social investigation reports for each child.

Medical Fundraising for Homeless & Needy People

Brief Introduction: Targeted medical relief drives to fund life-saving surgeries and critical care for economically disadvantaged patients.
